Edge NYC 2026: Inside the World's Highest Immersive Sky Experience

If you thought visiting an observation deck in New York meant riding an elevator up, taking a photo, and riding back down, Edge NYC just rewrote that assumption entirely.

Edge, located at 30 Hudson Yards in Manhattan, is already the highest indoor and outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, rising 1,131 feet above street level. On June 11, 2026, it opened something different: a multi-million-dollar indoor transformation, the largest since the attraction debuted in 2020, that turns the walk up to the observation deck into a multi-sensory journey through light, color, reflection, and sound before visitors ever step outside.

Address: 30 Hudson Yards, New York, NY 10001 Entry floor: Level 4 Sky deck height: 1,131 feet, 100th floor Ticket price: Starting at $49 per person, up to 35% off with 14+ days advance booking Hours: Open year-round, check edgenyc.com for daily hours Nearest subway: A, C, E to 34th St–Hudson Yards, or the 7 train direct from Times Square

The Seven Installations: A Journey Before the View

What makes the new Edge different is that the experience begins the moment you step onto Level 4, well before you ever reach the outdoor deck. Seven installations lead you through a sequence designed to build in intensity and spectacle.

PRISM opens the journey. Shifting images of New York City refract and bend around you into changing angles, colors, and patterns as you walk through.

PULSE follows, an interactive space filled with more than 350 glowing, color-changing orbs that respond to your movement, creating a different experience for every visitor who walks through.

SKYRISE comes next: a cinematic elevator ride that simulates rising 100 floors above Manhattan in under 60 seconds, using visuals, sound, and motion to set the pace for everything that follows.

Stepping off the elevator on the 100th floor, you enter REFLECTIONS, a two-story installation of 200 spinning mirrored surfaces suspended from the ceiling and mounted on metal stands, creating a responsive light show that shifts with every step you take.

From there, KALEIDOSCOPE unfolds across a series of giant rooms, including what's billed as New York City's largest kaleidoscope, with four interactive zones set to original music, endless reflections, and colors that change with every angle.

CRYSTAL CAVE places you beneath a 25-foot canopy of giant crystal forms that catch the light and cast rainbows across the floor, shifting in character depending on the time of day and the position of the sun.

INFINITE CITY closes the indoor sequence with 18 large-scale, light-filled columns inspired by New York's skyscrapers, mirrored and translucent surfaces that respond to your movement with waves of color and sound.

Only after all seven installations do you step out onto the outdoor sky deck itself: the glass floor, the angled glass walls, and the outdoor skyline steps between the 100th and 101st floors that Edge has always been known for. It's the payoff at the end of a much longer story than the deck alone used to tell.

Dining and Nightlife at Edge

The food and beverage program was reimagined by Tao Group Hospitality, one of the most recognized hospitality groups in New York.

Skyline Bar & Café serves elevated takes on New York classics, including mini smoked bagel bites, Wagyu hot dogs, babka pastry sticks, and mini cannolis, alongside cocktails inspired by the skyline.

Peak with Priceless is the renovated fine dining space, with select experiences available to Mastercard holders.

Avenue Sky Lounge is a reimagined cocktail lounge experience above Manhattan, part of Edge's broader nightlife programming.

Marquee Skydeck, a 21-and-over summer pop-up presented by Tao Group Hospitality, runs from May 1 through September 30, 2026, bringing DJs and nightlife more than 1,100 feet above the city on weekend nights.

Vinyl & Views, the weekday happy hour, runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 7 PM between June 16 and September 10, 2026, with live DJ sets, drinks, and skyline views.

Practical Tips Before You Visit

Best time of day: the installations change character with natural light. Crystal Cave and Infinite City have exterior windows and shift dramatically between midday, golden hour (about an hour before sunset), and blue hour (20-30 minutes after). PRISM, PULSE, SKYRISE, and Kaleidoscope run on artificial lighting and stay consistent regardless of the time you visit.

How much time to budget: two to three hours covers the full indoor experience, the outdoor deck, and a drink at the bar. If you're planning dinner at Peak or a Marquee Skydeck session, budget four to five hours.

Booking: reserve at edgenyc.com. Booking 14 or more days in advance unlocks discounts of up to 35 percent off the standard $49 ticket. Weekends sell out quickly, especially with World Cup crowds in the city through mid-July 2026.

Mastercard holders get access to Priceless experiences and priority entry.

Getting to Edge NYC

Take the A, C, or E subway to 34th St–Hudson Yards, or the 7 train directly from Times Square. On foot from Times Square, it's roughly a 15 to 20 minute walk west along 34th Street. Edge sits at the western edge of Hudson Yards, steps from The Shed, Vessel, and the northern entrance to the High Line.

Combine It With a Day in Manhattan

Edge sits directly at the northern end of the High Line, the elevated park that runs down to the Meatpacking District and Chelsea Market. If you're already exploring Manhattan on foot, Hudson Yards is a natural stop to add to the day, whether you're walking the High Line south to north or simply looking for a Manhattan landmark that didn't exist a decade ago.
